A Great Addition To Glasses
Glasses are great! But sometimes, a frame-free look is what you’re after. Contact lenses can be an option for most prescriptions. Healthy, thin, comfortable contact lenses are the go-to for all ages. Whether it’s for all day wear or just use on special occasions, Dr. McCulley will talk with you about your options.
Contact lenses, like glasses, are a medical device. Because contact lenses sit directly on the eye, they require a proper fitting and you’ll need some help to determine which type of lens is right for you.
Wearing contact lenses without the guidance of an eye care professional can lead to injury and infection. If you’re looking to try contact lenses, book an appointment for a fitting today.
We’ll Help Find Your Fit
If you’ve been told in the past that you can’t wear contact lenses or you’ve had trouble finding a comfortable fit, we can help. Dr. McCulley has extensive training and experience in fitting contact lenses.
There are many types of contact lenses. We will assist with finding the right type of lens for your unique eye shape as well as your lifestyle.
A contact lens fitting is just like a regular eye exam but with a few extra steps. We’ll take some measurements to make sure we find the perfect fit. Pupil and iris size might be measured, as well as your corneal curvature.
We’ll also evaluate your tear film. It’s important to make sure your eyes produce enough tears to keep them hydrated while contacts are worn. If you suffer from dry eye disease, it might make contact lens wear uncomfortable.
An Extension To Your Eye Care Routine
Contact lenses provide many benefits. They don’t fog up, will not get splattered by rain, and provide convenience when working out or playing sports.
But, It is important to note that contact lenses will not replace your glasses. You will need to have glasses with a current prescription to use when you are not wearing lenses. If you get an eye infection or are diagnosed with an eye disease, it may limit your ability to wear contact lenses, at least for a short time.
Contact lenses also don’t negate the need for sunglasses. McCulley Optix Gallery offers an array of non-prescription sunglasses you can wear with your contact lenses to shield your eyes from UV rays.
Prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses are not the same. If you want to order contact lenses, you will need an up-to-date contact lens prescription.Visit McCulley Optix Gallery to get fitted for contacts today.
